The Venice
Biennale is the bi-yearly, worldly happening that absolutely everyone wants to
be seen at, that every artist wants to be shown at, and that everybody wants to
be able to say, “I was there!”
The first
wave of artists, critics, collectors, photographers, has-beens, wannabes, and
creators in their prime, all made the excursion through the gargantuan
labyrinth that is the 2015 Venice Biennale.
Carole was
once again selected to participate in the Biennale in the group show, Personal Structures, sponsored by the European Cultural Centre at
Palazzo Mora.
Everyone’s
phones were out at the VIP opening night parties because Carole’s sculptures Leda
and the Swan and DurgaMa were on display.
Leda greeted guests just inside the gates, while DurgaMa sat boldly in front of the doors. The crowds adored Leda and thankfully she’s not camera shy!

Leda and the Swan, 2014. Oil on Resin with 24K Gold Leaf and Swarovski Crystals. 42 x 80 x 90 inches. |
Attendees
are all looking to be in the right place at the right time. To put it mildly,
things get a bit wild. People dance delirious from one Gala Party to the next,
but hailing a water taxi or a vaporetto is even more impossible than grabbing a
cab in NYC!
DurgaMa, 2014. Painted Bronze. 101 x 90 x 91 inches. |
Carole’s
showing of Leda and the Swan was indeed the right place at the right time
as reflected by the endless sea of people making their way to view her latest
sculpture.
JEIO Prosecco
wine was provided by the generous benefactor Gianluca Bisol. The combination
of Prosecco wines and live music enhanced the evening, creating a truly
memorable event.
